The MFA will organise a Seminar for all referees in July
at the Ta' Qali technical centre. The main speaker will be
Mr. Cummings from the Scottish FA

Mr. E.Zammit has once again been appointed to assist Mr. P.Collina in the Champions League match between Hertha Berlin and Porto

Referee Joe Attard was chosen to officiate
in the Under 16 European competition finals

Another Cooper Test is being organised
on 14th March at the Marsa Race Track

Emmanuel Zammit will officiate on the line in the UEFA Cup
match between Roma and Leeds United on 2nd March in Rome

After a sterling performance in the France '98 World Cup,
Mr. Emmanuel Zammit, has again be chosen to officiate in a
Top Class tournament, the Euro 2000 in Holland and Belgium

The Malta Football Referees Association is celebrating its
golden anniversary. For this special occasion, the MFRA
with the help of sports researcher Mr.Benny Pace will be
publishing a book with the 50-year history of the association

All First Class referees will be having the Cooper Test this month

All the new European FIFA referees will gather in Malta for a
seminar and physical tests. Mr. Joe Attard will attend this Seminar

UEFA is to organise a work shop for the Top 30 Referees in Europe. Maltese FIFA referees, Mr. Charles Agius, Mr. Lorry Sammut
and Mr. E.R. Zammit are also invited

Mr. Joe Attard replaced Mr. Alfred Micallef on the FIFA panel.
His first match is in the Rothmans International Tournament between Andorra and Albania

Mr. Alfred Micallef was presented with a memento during a council meeting for his contribution in international football.
Mr. Micallef is no longer on the FIFA panel due to age limit
although he is still on the list of top division pool

MFRA organized a cocktail party in December in which all the past and present referees were invited. A memento was presented to all the former Presidents of the MFRA. The President of the
Malta Football Association also presented a memento to the current MFRA President Mr. Patrick Fenech. Mr. George Betts
also presented the MFRA with a memento

Mr. Paul Caruana was promoted to First Class

During the MFRA's annual dinner referee Mr. Alan Mario Sant
was presented with the JUNIOR REFEREE AWARD
